Latest versions of Lims and record management software to be shown at Drug Discovery Technology 2002 in Boston, USA, next month
Thermo LabSystems will be presenting the latest versions of its Nautilus Lims and eRecordManager at Drug Discovery Technology (DDT) 2002 being held in Boston, 4-9 August 2002.
In addition to supporting compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, Thermo LabSystems's solutions equip researchers and bioinformaticians with the knowledge to generate leads, terminate flawed projects early, and make more-informed decisions. Functionality for microtiter-plate processing is among the highlights of the 2002 version of Nautilus Lims being demonstrated.
Powerful new features now enable users to move existing aliquots to new plates, with aliquot identifiers updated automatically along with those of all related plates as they are moved between plates.
The use of the Nautilus Plate Wizard can automate either the splitting or compression of plates, without needing to create new aliquots.
These enhancements are supported by a new plate-processing toolbar to further improve ease of use. To optimise the benefits of automation, Nautilus has been designed with the integration of lab instrumentation, including Thermo Finnigan LC/MS, ABI sequencers, Lico sequencers, and Thermo CRS robotics, as a core component of the Lims architecture.
The ability to easily import and export data and analysis files is therefore provided within Nautilus as standard, with no third party products or services required.
The most significant advance with eRecordManager 2002 release 1 being presented at DDT is a new web-based client interface. eRecordManager is Thermo's solution for long-term analytical data archival and knowledge management.
Booth demonstrations will show how users can now search, view, and download archived spectral and chromatographic data via a browser, without the requirement to install eRecordManager at their workstation. eRecordManager solution has the unique ability to interpret and store more than 160 analytical data file formats (including GC, LC, MS, FT-IR, NMR, UV-Vis, Raman, NIR), in accordance with 21 CFR Part 11.
eRecordManager stores the original data file, while creating version based on XML (eXtensible Markup Language).
This provides the means for companies to mine, share, and compare historical data, allowing companies to capitalise on the intellectual knowledge that has been previously locked away in their data archives.
eRecordManager was officially launched at Pittcon 2002 in New Orleans from March 17-22, where it won the Pittcon Editors' Gold Award for best new product.
Thermo LabSystems is on stand 1510 at Drug Discovery Technology 2002.
