Thermo Electron Informatics (known until recently as Thermo LabSystems), has announced that a number of significant new software innovations will make their European debut at Achema 2003
Achema attendees should note that the informatics business of Thermo Electron was formerly doing business separately as Thermo LabSystems and Thermo Galactic and will be exhibiting under its new identity for the first time at Achema.
The merging of the two businesses brings together the skills and resources of two leading vendors in lab informatics.
The name change is part of Thermo Electron's strategy to transform itself from what was a disparate array of businesses into a single focused company. Thermo will be presenting the latest versions of its two leading Lims products, Nautilus and SampleManager, the eRecordManager solution for long-term analytical data archival and knowledge management, Atlas CDS (chromatography data system), and the Grams/Ait desktop spectroscopy product package.
Through interfacing these systems to optimise automation in the laboratory, Thermo claims to offer the most comprehensive, integrated, single-vendor laboratory informatics solution available.
Thermo Electron says it is unique in being able to offer integrated and comprehensive technological solutions for the laboratory, ranging from sample preparation, sample analysis, through to data interpretation and knowledge management. Thermo's informatics solutions plays a key role in this, through the secure capture, processing and reporting of lab data, while providing new levels of integration with lab instrumentation, the process plant and the wider enterprise. Being presented for the first time at Achema, eRecordManager addresses the requirements of science-based industries for the long term preservation of data (both instrument and non-instrument data) and its accessibility.
Through an extensive library of powerful file converters that automatically generate XML versions of the data, the archived information can be retrieved and explored on virtually any platform long into the future without using the original instrument software.
At Achema, eRecordManager will be presented integrating with Thermo's Grams/AI package, allowing spectral data in any original format to be reprocessed without the requirement for the original instrument system and hardware to be installed.
eRecordManager will also be demonstrated in conjunction with other technologies including Thermo's Nicolet and Finnigan instrument software. Thermo is on stand F13-H23 at Achema.
