Ultrasonic Scientific will host a series of technical seminars and presentations on high resolution ultrasonic spectroscopy at PittCon 2005.
These seminars, given by world experts in ultrasound technology, will address many of the analytical problems facing the pharmaceutical, food, polymer, petrochemical and other industries.
Ultrasonic Scientific's technical programme includes:.
High resolution ultrasonic spectroscopy for material analysis.
This introductory seminar offers attendees an overview of the HR-US technique and technology (room SR64, 11.00am daily).
High resolution ultrasonic spectroscopy for analysis of food colloids.
This seminar describes new capabilities of HR-US ultrasonic spectrometers and examples of their applications for analysis of food colloids (room SR64, 3.00pm Tuesday 1 March).
High resolution ultrasonic spectroscopy for the analysis of emulsions and suspensions.
This seminar describes the application of HR-US spectrometers for characteriswation of emulsions and suspensions (room SR64, 3.00pm Wednesday 2 March).
Ultrasonic all chemical reaction detection for biotechnology and biomedical applications (oral presentation - 1.50pm Tuesday 1 March, room S230F).
Analysis of food colloids using high-resolution ultrasonic spectroscopy: new capabilities (poster session 1900 - Thursday 3 March, morning).
New applications of high-resolution ultrasonic spectroscopy for analysis of molecular process in pharmaceutical research and industry.
(poster session 1900 - Thursday 3 March, morning). Pre-register to participate in the technical programme and gain free entry into Ultrasonic Scientific's prize drawing. Ultrasonic Scientific is offering PittCon attendees the opportunity to Win two tickets to swim with dolphins at Orlando's Discovery Cove, or a 20GB Apple iPod, when pre-registered.
The prize drawing will take place at 2.30pm Wednesday, 2 March on Ultrasonic Scientific's booth (3816). High resolution ultrasonic spectroscopy (HR-US) is a novel technique for non-destructive material analysis based on precision measurements of parameters (velocity and attenuation) of high-frequency sound waves, propagating through analysed samples.
These waves propagate through most materials including opaque samples and allow direct probing of intermolecular forces. The HR-US instruments can perform analysis in a broad range of sample volumes (1ml typically, 0.03ml to 200ml and higher when custom made) and in various regimes with record resolution.
