The flow injection polymer analysis (Fipa) system from Viscotek Europe is designed to rapidly screen polymer samples for molecular weight, molecular size and intrinsic viscosity
Flow injection polymer analysis (Fipa) provides the perfect complement to gel permeation chromatography (GPC/SEC) methods. The technique gives a fast, precise and accurate average molecular weight, molecular size, intrinsic viscosity and percent polymer in 3-5 minutes without the need for elaborate sample preparation.
With typical analysis times of only a few minutes, Fipa delivers major gains in productivity over traditional methods where samples have to be sent away for time consuming and costly laboratory sample preparation and analysis.
Built for ease of use, low maintenance and minimal down-time, Fipa is as simple to use as pull a sample, dilute it with mobile phase solvent, and shoot it into the system to provide quick and easy simultaneous measurement of a range of key polymer process parameters.
Robust and easy to use the Viscotek Fipa system operates up to 80C providing ready screening of polymers including polycarbonates, polyacrylates, olefins, rubbers, polyimides, polystyrene, and polyvinylalcohol.
The technique is equally applicable to natural polymers including proteins.
