Synthesis demands reliable measurements even under extremely difficult conditions, including pH measurements
Synthesis demands reliable measurements even under extremely difficult conditions, including pH measurements where electrodes are required to endure a long working life, high temperatures, and complex, often alkaline, media.
The Metrohm Syntrode was designed to meet these challenges.
With a large 20ml capacity for the reference electrolyte solution, refill intervals are significantly longer, allowing for longer evaluations and studies.
Electrode maintenance is also reduced.
Available in 30cm and 45cm lengths, the Syntrode can be easily used in reaction vessels of all sizes.
Due to its more defined electrolyte flow and minimised blockage, the electrolyte diaphragm of choice for precision pH measurements is the sleeve diaphragm, which offers an extremely reliable and precise measuring system.
With a fixed sleeve design that creates a sharp and well-defined interface between the sample and the sleeve, the possibility of sample carryover is greatly reduced, minimising the effects of cross contamination and memory effects.
This new electrode uses the Metrohm Long Life reference system; an Ag/AgCl cartridge with a silver ion barrier that ensures an extended life and consistent measurements.
All of the Syntrodes have a cylindrical pH glass membrane manufactured from green U glass, which tolerates high temperatures and highly alkaline samples and shows excellent response with sample measurements with a pH of 14.
The Syntrodes are all equipped with an integrated Pt 1000 temperature sensor (class B) located directly at the inner side of the pH-sensitive glass membrane, which ensures that the temperature and pH measurements occur at the same location.
With this system, the user can continuously monitor and control the temperature and pH of the process.
In addition to the automated temperature compensation, the integrated temperature probe allows for one more additional flask opening.
