The Fluovac anaesthetic gas scavenger, manufactured by Harvard Apparatus, is designed as a miniature benchtop instrument that both delivers and captures anaesthesic gas.
The Fluovac has two delivery circuits, allowing anaesthesia at two surgical stations at once.
Alyternatively, users can dedicate one circuit to an induction chamber for efficient use of bench space.
The Fluovac captures escaping anaesthetic gas and passes it through a Fluosorber canister.
All anaesthetic is captured by the disposable activated charcoal canister.
It makes the surgical environment safe and allows surgery in rooms lacking proper exhaust ventilation or a safety hood.
Fluosorbers effectively adsorb halogenated gasses such as Isoflurane, Sevoflurane, or Halothane.
The canisters can then be discarded.
