Metrohm launches the Fungilab range of rotational viscometers in the UK and Ireland, including rotational viscometer the Visco Elite measuring relative and absolute viscosity
Viscometry and elasticity are used to define the consistency of different products.
Viscosity is considered to be the flow of resistance and measured by determining the stress required (sheer rate) to displace particles in the material with a specific speed of deformation (shear stress).
The viscosity is obtained as a result of the ratio between the shear stress and the sheer rate.
The Visco Elite series of rotational viscometers, which is the rotation of a cylinder or spindle (disc) in the sample to be analysed, measuring the resistence of the substance at a pre-set speed. The resulting resistance or torque is the measurement of the flow of viscosity.
The greater the resistance of the product to be determined the greater the viscosity.
Fungilab viscometers have different spindle types and variable speeds providing a wide range of viscometry measurement.
The top of the range rotational viscometer the Visco Elite measures relative and absolute viscosity and are ideal for QC and production plants, says Metrohm.
