Liverpool's Whiston Hospital places order for nine complete systems worth more than £565,000, in a major upgrade of all its endoscopy units
In a major upgrade of all its endoscopy units, Whiston Hospital in Liverpool has chosen to purchase nine complete Automatic Endoscope Processor (AER) systems from Labcaire.
The contract, worth more than £565,000, includes five Autoscope Guardian G4 and four Autoscope Guardian G2 instruments, each to be supplied with the company's new Autogen units.
Autoscope Guardian was designed and developed after the launch of the latest British, European and International guidelines and standards, including HTM2030 and prEN ISO 15883.
As such, it complies fully with the radically increased safety demands of the new standards, protecting operators from biological and chemical exposure and assuring patients of clean, contamination-free instruments.
"We are delighted to be supplying Whiston Hospital and confident that they have chosen the best technology available," says Mihir Vyas, Labcaire's commercial director.
"The nine Autoscope Guardian AERs will be used in various hospital departments, including urology, ENT, otolaryngology and gastroenterology.
"The addition of these systems will enable the staff to cope safely and effectively with the high number of endoscopes both now and in the future".
Autoscope Guardian is available in four models - the G2 and G4 for up to either two or four flexible endoscopes, and the G2R and G4R for a combination of either two or four flexible or rigid instruments.
Autoscope Guardian claims unrivalled operator and patient protection and safety while giving users flexibility of choosing either chemical disinfectants or sterilants for use with the system.
The G2 and G4 units at Whiston will be complemented by AutoGen disinfectant generators.
This is a micro-processor controlled system that generates a single dose of chemical disinfectant for the Autoscope range of endoscope washer disinfectors.
Compatible with a range of disinfectants, Labcaire AutoGen automatically provides 15 litres of freshly prepared solution to the Autoscope tank when the Autoscope requires disinfectant.
Once disinfection is complete, the used solution is discarded direct to waste.
