"Our primary aim in incorporating the business into the Hach Lange group will be to ensure that Danfoss Analytical customers experience a smooth transition"
Hach Lange says it has further strengthened its product portfolio through the acquisition of Danfoss Analytical, a manufacturer of online wastewater quality monitors.
Hach Lange is part of the environmental platform of Danaher, and accounts for over US$600 million in revenue worldwide.
Commenting on the acquisition, Darin Stell, who manages the Hach Lange business in the UK, says: "our primary aim in incorporating the business into the Hach Lange group will be to ensure that Danfoss Analytical customers experience a smooth transition.
"We have already incorporated Buhler, GLI, Hach, Lachat, Polymetron, Radiometer Analytical and American Sigma successfully, and Danfoss Analytical customers are now able to take advantage our comprehensive nationwide sales, technical and service support.
"The good news for existing Hach Lange customers is that they now have access to a complete range of wastewater analytical equipment combined with a high level of support.
"Any customers with queries relating to Danfoss Analytical should contact their local Hach Lange representative or our head office in Manchester".
The Danfoss Analytical acquisition provides Hach Lange with two major product brands: the Evita Oxy and the Evita Insitu.
Hach Lange can now claim to be the world's largest manufacturer of dissolved oxygen meters, and the addition of the Evita Oxy to the Hach Lange range provides customers with the option of a membrane-based DO probe in addition to the LDO, Hach Lange's own optical DO probe.
The Evita Insitu fills a gap in the Hach Lange range in providing high specification nutrient analysers that can operate in wastewater applications, including primary treatment applications and un-screened samples.
Analysis of nitrate, ammonium or phosphate takes place inside the analyser which is located within the wastewater stream, thereby eliminating the need for filters, pumps and pipes.
This acquisition puts Hach Lange in a unique position, it says: no other manufacturer of laboratory and online water measurement equipment is able to offer such a comprehensive range for almost all parameters.
