Results in transmittance, absorbance or concentration are highly accurate because of the narrow spectral bandwidth and because ten absorbance measurements are averaged in less than five seconds
Hach Lange says its new DR 5000 spectrophotometer, when combined with the company's reagents, forms a fully integrated analytical solution that delivers enhanced ease-of-use, precision, accuracy, and built-in error elimination, resulting in time and cost savings, as well as absolute confidence in test results.
The DR 5000 features more than 240 pre-programmed tests across a wavelength range of 190 to 1100nm, and as new tests are developed they can be updated simply with the use of a USB memory stick.
Operators are able to simply install up to 50 user programs.
Test results in transmittance, absorbance or concentration are highly accurate because of the extremely narrow spectral bandwidth (2nm) and because ten absorbance measurements are taken in less than five seconds, producing an average that is used to calculate the reading.
The narrow bandwidth enables a high level of resolution (0.1nm) that is supported by extremely fast wavelength adjustment in 0.1nm scan-steps.
The DR 5000 has been developed specifically to meet the needs of Hach Lange's many thousands of customers worldwide.
Its large graphical, backlit touch screen display coupled with automatic calibration and wavelength selection make operation simple and integrated barcode reading minimises the opportunity for human error, says the company.
An integrated carousel option holds up to seven 1cm rectangular cells, and the universal sample cell holder holds five common cell types.
A sipper module and pour-through cell for high volume analysis and trace level measurement are available as accessories.
The multi-cell-holder, sipper and carousel are all automatically detected.
A number of other improvements have been made to the internal components, all of which combine to make the DR 5000 a highly accurate, reliable and repeatable spectrophotometer.
