Two channels, USB 2.0 connectivity, and 12-bit resolution makes this PC oscilloscope ideally suited to applications such as NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) studies as well as audio analysis
Pico Technology announces the immediate availability of the PicoScope 3224 PC oscilloscope.
The two-channel oscilloscope has 12-bit resolution, 20MS/s sampling rate and a large 512KS memory buffer.
The USB2.0 connection makes connecting and installing the oscilloscope easy and allows a smooth, responsive waveform display.
The USB2.0 interface also powers the unit, eliminating the need for an external power supply.
The majority of oscilloscopes on the market offer eight-bit resolution with small waveform buffers.
The PicoScope 3224, with its high resolution and large memory, is ideally suited to applications such as NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) studies as well as audio analysis, says the company.
Its large memory buffer allows even long-duration signals to be captured at its top sampling speed of 20MS/s.
It offers 1% voltage accuracy and 100ppm timebase accuracy.
With its 12-bit resolution, the oscilloscope produces high-quality waveforms that can be vertically zoomed to reveal even higher levels of detail.
This resolution gives the instrument a 72dB dynamic range, which enables it to detect low-level harmonics when used in spectrum analyser mode.
The PicoScope 3224 is supplied with the PicoScope and PicoLog software applications, a 32-bit Windows driver and support for numerous third- party applications.
PicoScope provides oscilloscope, spectrum analyser and multimeter functions, with the ability to measure, save and print waveforms.
PicoLog turns the PC into a powerful data logger that can export data to a spreadsheet or display it as a graph, in real time or using recorded data.
These programs are easy for the novice to operate, but also contain a full range of advanced features for expert users.
Software updates are available free of charge from the Pico Technology website.
Alan Tong, technical director at Pico Technology, said: "Customers will find that the PicoScope 3224 has all the capabilities and the high quality of the well-established picoscope 3000 series, a range of products that puts Pico Technology at the forefront of the PC oscilloscope market".
The PicoScope 3224 is available immediately, direct from Pico Technology or one of its authorised distributors, at a cost of £399+VAT.
