The chemical biology research group at Texas Tech University has recently decided to upgrade its existing software to the latest version of Chrom Perfect Spirit
Justice Laboratory Software's Chrom Perfect chromatography data systems and chromatography application software is used extensively in many leading educational and research establishments around the world.
The chemical biology research group at Texas Tech University examines the structure and signal transduction of volatile natural products that trigger defence and growth promotion in plants.
Currently there are eight members in the group including PhD and undergraduate students as well as a post-doctoral associate.
Rapid and trouble-free collection of gas chromatography and GC-MS data greatly facilitates qualitative and quantitative analyses of the biochemical data.
"We have been a fully satisfied Chrom Perfect user for over six years of GC analysis and recently when considering a software upgrade with our new computer system, decided to go with Chrom Perfect Spirit because of the simplicity/sophistication of data analysis package.
"The logical layout of the software includes straightforward downloading of chromatograms that can be used for publications and presentations.
"The layout of Chrom Perfect, clearly written with a chemist in mind, lets researchers in my laboratory focus on data interpretation rather than how to perform software analyses.
"Thanks for a well designed software package for GC operations and analyses", said Paul Pare, associate professor, Texas Tech University.
Justice has been developing Chrom Perfect since 1988.
The company has offices in the USA and Europe and supports thousands of chromatographers around the world.
When asked about the experiences of Pare and his colleagues in Texas, a senior member of Justice Laboratory Software's management team made the following comments: "Development of the Chrom Perfect software interface is a key area for Justice Laboratory Software's development team.
"We encourage regular feedback from our development partners working in educational, research and industrial laboratories.
"We use the valuable information to analyse how they use Chrom Perfect in the daily work.
"Looking closely at the requirements of the individual allows us to address their needs by addressing functionality and reducing complexity.
"For nearly 20 years we have been fine tuning our product to encompass industry regulation and conformity, but at the same time providing a simple and intuitive interface for teaching and research purposes" - Dennis O'Hare, vp of sales and marketing, Justice Laboratory Software.
