Autoscribe's Matrix Process Step Management provides for tracking samples through several stages of a commercial or laboratory process: registration/submission, receiving, preparation, testing and reporting.
Some applications require that more steps be available and that those steps be completed in a specific sequence; step B must be completed before moving to step C.
In particular this is a requirement for many regulatory controlled industries such as the pharmaceutical industry.
The Process Step Manager option allows groups of checks to be applied to a sample and that these checks be completed in a specific order.
As part of this option, there is a process status viewer that provides a detailed, graphic display of the current status of selected samples and checks.
The graphical display is updated in real time as process steps are completed at intervals determined by the user.
Matrix Process Step Management functionality can also be made available as a stand-alone product for applications not connected to Lims.
For example, a hardware manufacturer may have a procedure for checking a product at several stages of the production line process.
These checks can be defined in Process Step Manager with the order in which they must be implemented.
At each check or step an operator can be prompted to enter a value, eg amount of reagent added; voltage check on hardware item etc, and this value can be compared to expected or allowable limits.
Any exceptions will be immediately highlighted and the process halted at that step until such time that an error has been corrected.
Process Step Manager is highly configurable and can be adapted for use in a wide variety of applications.
The product also allows for full traceability, location tracking, use of barcodes, auditing and version control.
