Expro, an oilfield service provider to the upstream oil and gas industry, has chosen Chrom Perfect for its chromatography data acquisition, analysis and reporting
Version 5.5.2 of Chrom Perfect Spirit was successfully installed at Expro's main laboratory site in Reading, UK, in summer 2005, with the first mobile lab deployed in Oman shortly after.
Further multiple field installations are planned.
Expro contacted Justice Laboratory Software when its gas chromatography data acquisition and instrument control could no longer be addressed by existing software systems.
"In the past we experienced the problem of latest software revisions not supporting our older gas chromatography files.
"With Chrom Perfect it was a different story.
"When we evaluated the software it was clear that Chrom Perfect contains all the tools required to obtain accurate and complete results from oil sample analysis.
"We were particularly pleased that the system offers full support and instrument control for all our gas chromatographs, without requiring any additional investment in proprietary and expensive hardware" - Sue Pearson, laboratory manager, Expro.
Like many forward thinking companies, Expro recognises the importance of moving its chromatography systems to a secure network environment.
"While many vendors offer some degree of instrument control, the Chrom Perfect approach configures each GC with a dedicated IP address, which allows connectivity via a standard ethernet port.
"This enables our new system to be managed, maintained and operated from any PC on the network.
"Additionally we have full instrument and auto sampler control on all our instruments and have managed to increase our laboratory desk space by removing instrument interfaces and reducing cabling" - Rouan Tulloch, IT and instrumentation specialist, Expro.
Expro is just one of the multinational companies that have come to rely on the power and flexibility of Justice Laboratory Software's products.
In a market where instrument manufacturers and other third parties are producing products which are increasingly proprietary and inflexible, Chrom Perfect offers the real alternative cross-platform chromatography data management system which uses standard chromatography instrumentation, computing hardware and networking infrastructure, says Justice.
Jim Russell was project manager for this installation: "For the past 18 months, Justice Laboratory Software has enjoyed unprecedented success in the USA installing large network products to leading oil and gas companies.
"The installation of Chrom Perfect for Expro is the first major European project of this type where all data acquisition is carried over the customer's network.
"We are proud to be able to offer a SYSTEM which does not attempt to force a customer to purchase new hardware that they do not want or need.
"Justice Laboratory Software has been developing chromatography software specifically designed for gas chromatography for almost 20 years.
"We will continue to support all chromatography instruments and allow our customers to use their existing chromatographs - without prejudice".
