EZ Test can accommodate a wide range of testing forces, with load cell ratings from 1/1 to 1/250 and precision of +/-1% the indicated value
Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (SSI) has introduced the EZ Test line of universal tabletop testers.
Two base models are available: a short S version with a 500mm stroke and a selection of load cells from 1N to 500N, and a long L version with a 920mm stroke and a selection of load cells from 1N to 5kN.
This versatility enables the configuration of up to 20 different units.
The line offers crosshead speeds from 0.05mm/minute to 1000mm/minute, and a return speed of 1000mm/minute for increased efficiency.
The enlarged workspace features an open-table design that extends out in front of the unit, allowing users to mount samples quickly and easily from any of three sides.
A jog button provides simple fine tuning of the crosshead position, and an automated test-force calibration system insures stable measurement values.
A parameter file function allows users to easily enter and modify multiple test constraints.
The product line can be used to perform force measurements that conform to ISO 7500-1 Class 1, ASTM E4, and other international standards.
"Researchers and technicians testing for qualities such as tensile strength, elasticity, and sheer demand accurate results, but they want them quickly," said Gilbert Vial, SSI's physical measurement product manager.
"EZ Test gives them both in a compact unit that can be linked to output devices that allow custom reporting via Lan or FTP in PDF, Word, and Excel file formats".
Optional Windows-compatible Trapezium software provides simplified user operation with wizards and the industry's premier navigation system.
