Waters has estimated that replacing traditional high performance LC (HPLC) with Waters Acquity Ultraperformance LC (UPLC) reduces acetonitrile consumption by at least 70 per cent.
The analytical industry is experiencing the most severe acetonitrile shortage in its history, which has led to pharmaceutical, food, environmental and chemical industries searching for solutions to maintain their mission-critical laboratory productivity.
The Acquity UPLC System allows scientists to perform analysis such as quality assurance and quality control tests using less acetonitrile than HPLC.
Because the Acquity UPLC operates with a wider velocity range, higher flow rates and greater backpressures, it uses smaller amounts of all types of solvent, including acetonitrile.
