BMG Labtech has launched the Pherastar FS, a HTS microplate reader that is based on the Pherastar Plus and includes several new features.
The Pherastar FS features tandem technology, which uses sensitive, filter-based detection in all modes and a UV/Vis spectrometer; on-board reagent injectors for precise kinetic measurements; advanced bottom reading for cell-based assays; and a dedicated UV-laser for all TR-Fret-based assays.
The Pherastar FS performs non-radioactive detection technologies, including fluorescence intensity, fluorescence polarisation, time-resolved fluorescence/TR-Fret, laser-based Alphascreeno, luminescence/Bret, and UV/Vis full-spectrum absorbance.
The Pherastar FS achieves advanced performance in all reading modes, including HTRFO/TR-Fret, through a lens-based optical system.
This system is combined with a technology that ensures the optimal use of different mode-specific PMTs and excitation sources.
In addition, BMG Labtech readers can capture TR-Fret decay curves in real time for assay optimisation.
For HTS automation purposes, the Pherastar FS is easily integrated into numerous robotic platforms or it can be equipped with BMG Labtech's 50-plate Stacker II.
The Pherastar FS is driven by BMG Labtech's Reader Control software and data evaluation is performed by BMG's microplate analysis and reduction software, Mars.
The Mars Wizard creates a step-by-step calculation of a standard curve and the Mars Template Manager is a good tool for building complex data processing protocols.
Enhanced robotic integration capabilities, digital signature, and the 21 CFR part 11 compliance of Mars complete the package.
