Sartorius international biosciences scholarship: technology group sets up international scholarship programme
Sartorius has set up a new international scholarship programme entitled "Sartorius International Biosciences Scholarship." It offers students of upper semesters and those who have already earned a degree in the natural sciences and/or technology, such as bioprocess engineering, biochemistry or sensorics, and who would like to gain experience working at a German technology group.
In particular, the program addresses scientific junior employees from the global growth regions, such as Asia, eastern Europe and Latin America.
Integrated into global teams, the scholarship program participants are to work on selected projects in research and development as well as product marketing in the biotechnology division.
Besides providing scholarship funds, Sartorius will pay the travel and accommodation expenses for these participants.
In addition to promoting the upcoming generation of new employees, Sartorius is pursuing the goal of getting the jump on foreseeable bottlenecks in recruiting scientific personnel.
"We intend to retain the services of highly qualified young employees at an early stage in their careers," said CEO and executive board chairman Joachim Kreuzburg.
In addition, he pointed out that it is becoming increasingly important for Sartorius to enable employees to work in international teams at all levels.
"Internationalisation has long since ceased to be strictly a management task.
"Our scholarship funds are intended to help anchor international project teamwork even more deeply in our company," stated Dr Kreuzburg.
Within the scope of the scholarship programme, Sartorius will be initially offering ten positions.
Already today, the company trains some 30 interns at its German locations in addition to offering multi-year vocational training programs to approximately 90 young employees.
