Sartorius has released two new filtration devices that combine state of the art technology with user-friendliness to give easy detection of microbes during air sampling and sterility testing
The MD8 Airscan is light, portable and features the gelatin membrane filter method giving users easy detection of microbes and viruses during sampling.
An absolute retention rating ensures that all bacteria-laden particles are captured, regardless of size, guaranteeing total authenticity of results.
Thanks to the innovative gelatin membrane filter method it will prevent any collected microbes from drying out and thus avoiding detection; it also means that it can be used across a wide variety of applications for example, virus collection due to its water solubility.
In addition, the MD8 Airscan is capable of processing up to 1m3 per sample which results in even the lowest microbial counts being detected, and together with an electronic sensor to precisely monitor and maintain air flow rate, the most accurate readings on both microbial count and air volume can be guaranteed across the testing period.
Crucially, the MD8 Airscan is perfectly suitable for useage in isolators, blow-fill-seal machines as well as A and B class clean rooms and is compliant with EU-GMP.
In the area of sterility testing, Sartorius has developed Sterisart for the ultimate in both reliability and adaptability.
Utilising Sartochem, a membrane filter developed especially for sterility testing, it offers a high retention of micro organisms, much better than the standard 0.45um membrane and is also mechanically superior to the classical 0.45um membrane.
Together with a practical, new dual metal needle supplied with different adapters, virtually all containers and products can be tested within its user-friendly format.
Gamma sterile version has gas impermeable packaging prevents sterilants used in isolators from penetrating the box or compromising the system.
