Anachem is offering Nippon Genetics Europe's DNAreleasy in the UK and Ireland.
DNAreleasy is a reagent for the lysis of cells and the release of genomic DNA.
It requires a 10-minute incubation on a thermal cycler before the DNA is ready for PCR processing.
DNAreleasy has been successfully used to lyse a range of cells, including: human buffy coat, human fibroblasts tissue culture cells, human sperm, mouse and rat tissue culture cells and mouse tail; and various plants, Drosophila and others such as yeast, Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, viruses and many more.
DNAreleasy is simple to use.
The cells are mixed with 20ul of the reagent and overlay with mineral oil if necessary (for thermal cyclers without a heated lid).
This combination should be placed in a thermal cycler and treated at 75C for five minutes followed by 96C for two minutes before holding at 20C.
After the lysis, some or all of the DNAreleasy-lysate can be used directly in PCR.
DNAreleasy can make up to 40 per cent of most PCR mixes.
It can be stored at -20C for future use.
