Elga Process Water has launched the Triton pharmaceutical water package unit, which incorporates the production, storage and distribution of pharmaceutical-grade water.
Triton can meet the water quality standards of USP and Ph Eur Purified Water and Ph Eur Highly Purified Water.
The company claims that it is an all-inclusive product because it includes in the same compact package, reverse-osmosis and electrodeionisation processes and 350-litre purified water storage tank and distribution components.
Triton saves space in a pharmaceutical plant and all but eliminates onsite installation work as everything is already piped and installed.
It is equipped with an automatic chemical sanitisation sequence, controlled by the integral microprocessor.
The package has a continuous flow rate of 350 litres per hour, although it can run periodically up to 500 litres per hour.
The unit comprises a pre-filter, reverse-osmosis, chemical-free electrodeionisation stack, a 350-litre storage tank and a ring main booster pump.
Triton has an uncompensated conductivity meter in order to meet the USP <645> chapter and to enable validation of the water quality at the outlet of the system and at the return loop.
The system uses VWS's 'I-button' device, which protects the system against unauthorised intervention in the Triton operation and sanitisation process.
Triton has all of the main features and benefits of large pharmaceutical purified water treatment systems and it is ideally suited to pilot trials, the production of clinical trial material, scale-up from research to production or large-scale research products.
Users can purchase the unit outright or take advantage of an 'All-in-Pack' rental agreement.
The customer simply pays a fixed quarterly payment by direct debit and Elga Process Water provides the water treatment plant and services it.
All-in-Pack gives customers the ability to adopt the right technical solution without capital budget constraints.
In addition, the plant will be maintained by a team of fully trained technicians.
