The logistics of emissions monitoring often means climbing up ladders to the top of stacks to gain access to the emission stream - which is where this portable instrument makes life easier
A lot of emissions monitoring takes place at height on tall stacks and high level platforms, and often involves gaining safe access to confined working areas.
In these situations the portability of the measuring equipment is a real issue - one that Testo has addressed with its new 350 range.
The company says its Testo 350 is quite simply the most advanced analyser of its type available.
Using new, patented technology, gas preparation is integrated in the analyser - no more separate gas preparation units, and heated sample lines are not necessary.
Weighing less than 4.5 kg and complete with shoulder carrying strap, the 350's narrow profile allows easy access to tight spots. Using a high capacity NiMH rechargeable power pack, several hours worth of measurements can be made without the need for mains power.
Alternatively the analyser will operate from 110 to 230V mains supply without the need for an external transformer.
And what about accuracy? The Testo 350 uses a special small bore PTFE lined sample hose which, together with a fast flow rate, means insignificant SO2 and NO2 loss through adsorption.
This patented technique not only results in faster response times and improved accuracy, but also allows Testo to build an analyser that is lower in weight and less power-hungry.
