Biopharma Process Systems has made a VirTis AdVantage freeze dryer available for hire throughout the UK and Ireland
The decision to make a freeze dryer available for hire was made due to extensive customer feedback.
Some have either ordered a freeze dryer, but don't want to wait for it to be delivered before getting started, while others want to test their processes before committing to what can be an expensive piece of equipment.
Alternatively customers may want to familiarise themselves with the machinery, control systems and theory before their full scale system arrives.
The VirTis AdVantage is described as the world's only fully temperature controlled, single shelf, bench-top instrument.
It is already popular in many research laboratories and universities due to its wide range of features and extensive freeze-drying capabilities, says Biopharma.
Small enough to fit onto most laboratory benchtops, it has complete flexibility to process bulk, vials or flasks in a space-saving design.
It is ideal for small scale freeze drying applications, such as those occurring in pilot or research and development laboratories.
The shelf is capable of temperatures from -60C to +65C, with a two litre process condenser achieving a low temperature of -70C.
The AdVantage is supplied with the new Wizard2 control system that provides storage of up to 16 separate recipes each with 12 freezing and 16 primary drying steps that include step, hold or rate function and vacuum control for complete flexibility in cycle formulation.
These state-of-the-art control systems ensure precise freeze-drying control, particularly important for handling extremely valuable or sensitive biological materials.
The AdVantage is available to hire from Biopharma Process Systems throughout the UK and Ireland with accompanying vacuum pump and oil mist eliminator.
The company is also able to offer qualified assistance on all aspects of formulation and cycle development.
