Optima-mini is specially designed as 'closed cell culture system' for laboratory applications and it is said to be ideal for suspension, perfusion, and microcarrier cultures
Based on its success with Optima, MetaBios is now introducing Optima-mini, a new cell culture bag for growing mammalian, insect, and plant cells.
Optima-mini is specially designed as 'closed cell culture system' for laboratory applications and it is ideal for suspension, perfusion, and microcarrier cultures, says MetaBios.
The Optima-mini bag features an internal dip-tube and mesh filter which simplifies media exchange in perfusion culture; multiple luer lock ports, which allows media and gas to be added or changed under sterile conditions; a large screw-cap port, which provides unrestricted access of microcarrier beads, cell attachment matrix and tissue cultures; and 500ml working volume, which can be used on most laboratory shakers and rocking tables.
The new culture bag also offers greater flexibility in gas transfer between the bag and the environment, and it is capable of both gas diffusion and regulated gas operations.
Optima-mini has been successfully used for growing mammalian, insect and plant cells, including CHO, Sf-9, Hi-5, and HEK293, and It is ideal for laboratory production of proteins, virus, antibodies, cell mass and tissue culture.
