Mark Bloomfield joined Applied Biosystems as vice president sales molecular biology Europe, on 1 November 2005
As a member of the European leadership team, Mark Bloomfield will contribute to growing molecular biology revenues across the European region.
Bloomfield brings more than 15 years of experience in leading sales, service; support and field-marketing operations in pan-European businesses within globally integrated companies.
Most recently he held the position of director of European commercial operations for the scientific instruments division of Thermo Electron, where he was responsible for Europe, Middle East, eastern Mediterranean, Africa and the Indian sub-continent, leading more than 500 employees with over $380 million in revenues.
Bloomfield has a proven track record in delivering revenue growth through the development of people, commercial organisations and customer relationships, says Applied Biosystems.
Previously, he has held positions of director of European field operations with the analytical instruments division of Thermo Electron; aftermarket sales and sales development manager with Agilent Technologies Europe; and European business development manager for mass spectrometry and gas phase chromatography with Hewlett-Packard.
