Farfield Sensors has received double recognition for the effect of exports on its business, following participation in the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) programme
Farfield received both the local Greater Manchester Passport to Export Award 2006 and the wider regional North West Passport to Export Award 2006.
Passport to Export is UK Trade and Investment's flagship programme for new exporters.
It provides the training, planning and ongoing support a company needs to begin a successful export operation.
Under Passport to Export, Farfield established sales capability in all major export markets for its AnaLight range of analytical instruments, adopting a strategy of assessing and appointing distribution channels in every relevant territory.
The awards were presented at a dinner held at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton and hosted by BBC Television personality Adrian Chiles.
Kathryn Chapman, sales director at Farfield, and Jo Maltby, marketing communications manager, received the award on behalf of the company.
Simon Carrington, Farfield's marketing director, says: "Although we dominate our domestic market, export sales are obviously essential to long term growth".
"Establishing global sales channels is a considerable investment for any company and we are highly appreciative of the support and advice received from the Passport to Export scheme".
"We are delighted to have been singled out for yet further recognition of our successes and look forward to being part of the continued economic growth of both Manchester and the North West region as a whole."
