The development agency is hosting a business networking lunch for attendees and is also helping Scottish companies take part in the Biotechnology Showcase event on Tuesday 16 May
Scottish Enterprise is backing this year's SCIpharm 2006 Conference in Edinburgh.
SCIpharm 2006 is an industry-led event organised by the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI), May 14-17 at the EICC, Edinburgh, Scotland.
"A big part of Scottish Enterprise's role is to bridge the gap between publicly-funded early stage research and privately-supported commercial development".
"The partnership with Scottish Enterprise and SCI will help to profile and promote Scottish Life Science companies and academia involved in research and development," said Scottish Enterprise's Ed Hutchinson.
Scotland is one of the UK's key life science locations.
The sector is underpinned by a strong academic base that includes internationally competitive bioscience departments and recognised capabilities in drug discovery and development, contract research, medical devices, stem cells, genomics, bioinformatics and bioprocessing.
"Over the past five years the life sciences sector in Scotland has doubled in size".
"We are committed to helping the industry grow further through the development of new Scottish companies and by attracting investment from outside." "This conference will be the ideal showcase to profile the range of top class companies based here and the type of world class work that's going on here," added Ed.
