The X64-CL Express from Dalsa Coreco is a CameraLink frame grabber based on the PCI Express interface - the next generation bus interface technology for PCs
The PCI Express standard is a serial digital interface technology that is specifically designed to offer dedicated bandwidth to each plug-in device while reducing the PCB design complexity.
The X64-CL Express supports up to two independent base or one medium CameraLink colour and/or monochrome cameras and is based on the successful X64-ipro architecture.
Features include the ability to reformat input data from both multi-tap area scan and linescan cameras on the fly with its on-board FPGA provides processing includes Bayer decoding and real-time shading correction.
The X64 CL Express also supports the Trigger to Image Reliability framework (T2IR) for robust image acquisition.
With acquisition pixel clock rates up to 85MHz, this board delivers an excellent good cost/performance ratio.
On the software side, the X64-CL Express supports the new 64 Bit version of Windows XP Professional, which is especially advantageous for high-performance machine vision applications that require large amounts of memory to store and process long sequences of images.
It is also capable of transferring image data above and beyond 4GB memory address space thereby utilizing the maximum available physical memory.
For existing users of Coreco X64 technology the new card will work without the need for software changes future proofing existing applications as the PCI Express bus gains acceptance over standard PCI.
