Can be used to simultaneously stir and heat a wide variety of vessel types and sizes and can also be configured to perform more complex procedures including distillation, digestion, and extraction
The Starfish from Radleys Discovery Technologies (RDT) is a new, modular heating and stirring experiment workstation that is said to set the standard for flexibility.
RDT says Starfish is priced to be affordable by any laboratory.
To make best use of existing laboratory resources the StarFish accepts most popular brands of glassware.
With a choice of baseplates, the Starfish will fit on almost all leading brands of stirring hotplate - making it the most versatile heating and stirring system available according to RDT.
At its simplest level the StarFish can be used to simultaneously stir and heat a wide variety of vessel types and sizes - from small 2ml vials to 250ml round-bottomed flasks.
Yet the same system can also be configured to perform more complex procedures including distillation, digestion, extraction and Dean-Stark experiments.
The StarFish is available in two formats - monoblock and polyblock.
In a monoblock configuration the StarFish accommodates multiple experiment wells all of the same size.
As a polyblock system the Starfish can mix and match a combination of vessel styles in its arrangement of five individual segments.
