LGC attends its first police conference outside the UK, at GPEC 2006, Germany - 2-4 May, Hall 2, Booth L05
LGC Forensics, the newly branded forensics division of the LGC group, will be exhibiting at GPEC, the General Police Equipment Exhibition and Conference 2006 in Leipzig, Germany, 2-4 May 2006, and will be offering visitors information on LGC Forensics comprehensive portfolio of forensic services and capabilities.
GPEC 2006 will be the first police conference in Europe attended by LGC Forensics.
Following the revision last year of how forensic DNA analysis can be used in criminal investigations in Germany, the prospect has been created for LGC to provide police forces in Germany with a range of services across the entire forensic spectrum of offences and case types.
Angela Gallop, director, LGC Forensics, who will be speaking at the conference on 2 May, with a presentation entitled 'The changing face of forensic science', said: "This is a valuable opportunity to create awareness of LGC's services amongst the police forces in Germany".
"We are looking forward to talking to delegates regarding their needs from a forensic service provider in what is a rapidly changing market".
"As one of only two full service forensic science providers in England and Wales, we aim to build on our reputation and on LGC's current international operations to offer forensic services throughout Europe and beyond." The LGC group now has a number of operations based in Germany, the most recent addition being Agowa, a specialist genomics company based in Berlin.
LGC's laboratory in Luckenwalde produces pharmaceutical impurity reference standards and its reference materials division, LGC Promochem, has a supply and distribution centre in Wesel.
Also speaking at the conference on 2, 3, 4 May, is LGC's Heike Solbrig-Lebuhn, business development manager at LGC's Wesel office, with a UK case study presentation on the South Wales Police scientific investigation of the murder of Lynette White.
Solbrig-Lebuhn will be available at LGC's booth number L05, Hall 2, throughout the duration of the conference.
