Dipslide units consist of nutrient agars on a sampling paddle, permanently attached to an easy to hold cap, contained in a clear plastic shatterproof chamber
RMS has introduced a range of Dipslides for assessing microbial contamination.
Dipslides are a simple and easy to use swabbing and sampling device for assessing microbial contamination.
Used in conjunction with incubators, they avoid lengthy laboratory based procedures of plating out on Petri dishes.
Dipslide units consist of nutrient agars on a sampling paddle, permanently attached to an easy to hold cap, contained in a clear plastic shatterproof chamber.
The chambers are batch numbered for quality control purposes.
Dipslide features:.
Large paddle for easy reading.
Flexible paddle for maximum surface contact.
Airtight lid (easy to lift off).
Conveniently boxed in tens.
Comparator chart provided.
Shelf life: Dipslides have a typical use by date of 6-9 months, dependent of manufacture cycle and type of dipslide.
They can be used after this date as long as no contamination or visible shrinkage shows on the agar surface.
You should ideally store your dipslides at 15C but it is more important to keep the storage area temperature stable.
Dipslide will survive at higher and lower temperatures, provided they are not exposed to temperature fluctuation.
Application: Dipslides can be used to monitor microbial growth wherever the potential may exceed 1000 organisms per ml of sample fluid.
Industrial waters: Dipslides can be used for the detection of slime forming bacteria in cooling and industrial waters, storage tanks and for evaluating biocide performance in treated systems.
Industrial fluids: Dipslides can be used for the detection of bacteria and moulds in metalworking fluids, paper processing waters, fuel tanks etc.
Environmental hygiene: Dipslides can be used to monitor the surface contamination within domestic or institutional sites.
Leather industry: Dipslides can be used for the detection of spoilage organisms in hide and skin soaking liquors.
Product safety: Dipslides are non-hazardous.
However used and contaminated dipslides should be sterilised with disinfectant before disposal, or disposed of by autoclave, or incineration.
Quality control: Dipslides should be stored in cool dry conditions, but not in a refrigerator.
Every care is taken to ensure Dipslides reach the user in perfect condition and so prior to dispatch they are they are quarantined for seven days at 25C.
The slightly high temperature promotes bacteria into growth should any be present.
Every dipslide is individually checked for cosmetic damage and contamination; typically less than a 1% failure.
Dipslides are supplied in boxes of ten individual slides together with identification labels, user instructions and a comparator chart to quantify and interpret growth results.
