Partnership will deliver efficient and profitable wireless networks for sensing and control applications
Honeywell will partner with Crossbow Technology to deliver products for the rapidly growing wireless sensor network segment.
Honeywell Sensing and Control business (S+C) is enabling its portfolio of sensors for integration into wireless sensor networks by incorporating Crossbow's wireless sensor networks platform into its XBW product line.
Because hard-wired, traditional control or sensing applications can be difficult and expensive, wireless sensor networks (WSN) can deliver significant cost savings and improved operational efficiencies.
Now Honeywell's customers can easily develop cost effective sensor solutions using reliable wireless sensor components integrated directly into enterprise information and management systems.
The XBW product line is now available through S+C's direct sales and distributor channel.
"We are honoured that Honeywell chose Crossbow's technology to enable its wireless sensor networks", said Mike Horton, CEO and president of Crossbow Technology.
"The combination of Honeywell and Crossbow provides OEMs a unique solution that gives them an edge over their competition".
"Networking wireless sensors and integrating sensor data increases the ROI of sensor applications and enables new applications that were not previously economical", said Pat Murray, vice president, Honeywell Electronic Sensing.
"By working with Crossbow, we provide our customers with a Honeywell wireless sensor network solution they can trust.
"The combination of Honeywell's sensor portfolio and distribution channel with Crossbow's wireless technology leadership is a catalyst for the entire industry.
"Honeywell's global sales and technical support teamed with Crossbow's wireless systems expertise provides an unmatched combination of technology and service" said Murray.
