PerkinElmer's new Sombrilla web-based instrument and data management system speeds up communication so laboratories can prepare, report and deliver test results through a web browser
Unlike other data management software, Sombrilla allows multiple users to access analysis results and remotely use instrument data handling software through a secure web interface, saving time and facilitating communication between organizations and customers. The Sombrilla WebConnector component provides the ability to view data from virtually any type or brand of laboratory instrument that can print to a file.
Sharing the data is simple.
After running samples, the results are posted to the Sombrilla server, allowing colleagues or clients who have been granted access to view the results from anywhere in the world using a web browser For PerkinElmer instruments, the Sombrilla WebEnabler component enables the instrument software via the web, allowing data processing and instrument monitoring remotely in a secure, web based environment.
It is not necessary to have the software loaded on the remote computer.
WebEnabler allows access to PerkinElmer instrument software to perform any further calculations or data processing needed to finish a report Remote monitoring of PerkinElmer systems verifies that automated runs have occurred without incident, so it is possible to set up a run before leaving for the evening and monitor the instrument from home.
