Collaboration partner the Australian Proteome Analysis Facility (Apaf) and Bio-Rad to continue longstanding relationship and develop new technology to support proteomics research
Bio-Rad Laboratories has renewed a partnership agreement with the Australian Proteome Analysis Facility .
(Apaf) to exchange technology and collaborate on the development of new proteomics research and training tools (June 2003).
This continues a successful partnership that has resulted in the co-development of innovative products that are used in Bio-Rad's ProteomeWorks system and enables Apaf to expand its bioinformatics capabilities and its bacterial pathogenesis discovery program.
"This partnership combines the strength, knowledge and expertise of leading proteomics innovators to provide scientists with access to advanced technology for protein identification," said Bio-Rad vice president and group manager of life science, Brad Crutchfield.
"Apaf is excited about this new collaboration with Bio-Rad as it aims to develop novel products that break the current bottlenecks associated with proteomics workflows," said Professor Mark Baker, Apaf's newly appointed director.
"New developments will lead to quantum leaps in the depth of the discovery afforded by existing proteomic array technologies." The Australian Proteome Analysis Facility (Apaf) was established in 1995 under the Australian government's Major National Research Facility programme, and was the first dedicated proteome center established in the world.
The Apaf works cooperatively with local and international pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agricultural and academic organizations to facilitate the discovery of therapeutic, diagnostic and quality markers.
