CI Electronics has launched the latest version of its fully automatic Cisorp water sorption analyser that has a resolution of 0.1ug, an accuracy of +/-1.0ug and a dynamic weighing range of +/-1000mg
A climatic control system enables the temperature in the weighing chamber to be varied from 10 to 80C and the relative humidity from 2% to 96% RH, depending on the temperature.
Because the weighing chamber is small, changes in climatic conditions can be achieved rapidly, which can better replicate certain real-world conditions as well as help to reduce study times.
The sophisticated feedback control for the humidity utilises a calibrated high-precision probe that is situated very close to the sample, thereby greatly improving the degree of confidence in the test results.
This is important across the range of applications for which the Cisorp may be used, including research and development and quality assurance in industries as diverse as pharmaceuticals, food processing, packaging, detergents, cosmetics, and building materials.
Solids, liquids, powders, granules and fibres can all be studied, whether the materials are natural or manmade.
One of the main features of this high-accuracy instrument is that it incorporates two CI Mk2 ultra-sensitive microbalances with 5g capacity.
These can be utilised to analyse two samples in parallel or, alternatively, a single 10g sample can be suspended across both balances without compromising the instrument's accuracy.
This dual microbalance arrangement allows users to compare two different samples subjected to identical environmental conditions or take an average from two nominally identical samples.
Test routines can be easily programmed using the user-friendly Windows-based software.
The Cisorp can then run unattended for hours or even days and data can be evaluated in real-time and/or exported for storage and analysis.
