Microbac Laboratories and MVA Scientific Consultants announce a strategic alliance at the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) 2006 conference and food expo
MVA Scientific Consultants will serve as Microbac's preferred provider of forensic food microscopy and other microanalytical services.
Microscopy is the practice of utilising powerful microscopes to study objects too small to see with the unaided eye.
Microscopy is considered to be one of the most powerful tools for studying unknown materials, particles and contaminants in the environment and in products like food.
"Environmental concerns, legal and regulatory issues, increased product quality, packaging and customer expectations are just some of the challenges facing the Food and Beverage industry", says Richard Brown, executive director and project leader for forensic food microscopy services at MVA Scientific Consultants.
"Our alliance with Microbac offers a compelling menu of solutions to help meet some of these challenges," Brown concluded.
Microbac's role in the alliance will be to serve as MVA Scientific Consultants's preferred provider of microbiological and chemical analysis for food, environmental and other samples.
"This strategic alliance represents a significant upgrade in our offerings in the area of electron and light microscopy to our current and prospective clients in the wide range of industries in which we serve," says Tom Zierenberg, corporate marketing and business development, Microbac Laboratories.
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, Microbac operates a US network of laboratories.
