Farfield Scientific says it is taking the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector by storm with its AnaLight DPI instruments
AnaLight DPI instruments are providing new and unique access to essential research and development data, helping a number of the world's largest FMCG companies to dramatically speed up the innovation to product process.
One Farfield customer, a laundry-care category R+D manger, describes how "DPI gave us more information about the surfactant behaviour in our formulation in one week than we previously obtained in ten years with older techniques.

AnaLight instruments have significantly improved the understanding of the interfacial behaviour of product ingredients and formulations.
In turn, this is helping R+D to come up with product options and claims that are relevant to the demands of the market much more quickly.

The AnaLight DPI instrument range studies the relationship between molecular structure and function through real time measurements of thickness, density and mass at ultra-high resolution.
Applications for AnaLight in FMCG have evolved from Farfield's collaborations with prestigious European surface science reference sites, including YKI in Stockholm and ETH in Zurich.
DPI is being used in the FMCG sector to study the interfacial adsorption, desorption and absorption behaviour of a range of compounds including surfactants, polymers, polyelectrolytes and proteins.
