GenoLogics Life Sciences Software (GenoLogics), a developer of software for life science research, announces 'Genopalooza' a top-notch, full-day motivational conference for its 50+ employees
On Thursday 3 August 2006 GenoLogics will send all of its employees to 'Genopalooza' at Dunsmuir Lodge to listen to two internationally known keynote speakers and to participate in workshops focused around the theme of 'getting things done'.
Organized by the employees for the employees, this event provides the entire team with an opportunity to share an experience that will motivate and inspire.
Employees will attend two of the four workshop sessions offered on the topics of leadership, accelerated learning, communication style, and personal excellence.
They will also have the opportunity to listen to two engaging keynote speakers: Shannon Byrne Susko, payment processing, vice president of technology (and former president and CEO of Paradata Systems) and her talk is titled, Turning Vision into Reality, and Warren MacDonald, an inspirational adventurer and amputee who was recently featured on the Oprah Winfrey show, Larry King Live, and the Discovery Channel programme, "I Shouldn't be Alive." His talk is titled 'A Test of will - finding opportunity in change'.
Human resources manager at GenoLogics, Brandie Yarish commented "The employee response to this initiative has been incredibility positive with 15% of the company sitting on the planning committee.
"Employees have contributed in a variety of ways: one employee created cartoons for the GenoPalooza swag bag, and another created a music CD to remind everyone of the event".
Strong teams are created through shared history, experiences, and team-based learning; GenoPalooza is in essence, the high tech equivalent of the teachers 'Pro-D' day.
It will focus on training, development and motivation for high-tech employees.
"Our ambition is to make this an annual staff event that gets better every year.
"GenoLogics does many things differently, and this is just one example," commented Michael Ball, CEO at GenoLogics.
With this initiative and others in the pipeline GenoLogics aims to land spot on Canada's 'Top 100 Employers' list next year.
