Kits include the labelling reagents and ULS-Trap purification columns, ensuring the complete removal of unreacted label while yielding very high sample recovery that is independent of protein size
Kreatech Biotechnology announces the launch of its new ULS labelling kits for proteomics applications.
The PlatinumLink Protein labelling kits can be used to label purified (recombinant) proteins for downstream applications.
The kits offer the ULS labeling molecule bound to biotin, DNP, fluorescein or rhodamine for direct labelling of proteins.
The complete kits not only include the labelling reagents, but also the unique purification columns, ULS-Trap, ensuring the complete removal of unreacted label while yielding very high sample recovery that is independent of protein size.
"One of the important features of the PlatinumLink kits is that ULS technology provides a high coverage of the proteome through the specific labeling of methionine, cysteine and histidine residues" said Dimitri Pappaioannou, product manager molecular cytogenetics and proteomics at Kreatech.
"Also, since ULS does not target lysine residues which are targeted by other technologies, it is less likely that ULS labelling will interfere with protein-protein interactions".
In addition to kits for protein labelling Kreatech also commercialises labelling kits for labeling serum and cell lysate for profiling on high density antibody arrays, aRNA labelling, small RNA labelling, arrayCGH labelling and general nucleic acid labelling.
Kreatech's ULS technology relies on the special binding properties of platinum, to form coordinative bonds with biomolecules by binding to specific sites on DNA, RNA and proteins.
In this way, ULS acts as a 'molecular glue' for DNA, RNA and proteins.
As a result of its versatility, customers have a choice of the molecular label attached to the ULS they can use to label the biomolecules of interest.
