Kaleido Technology has appointed a new chief executive officer (CEO) to lead its drive to develop technologies for cost effective mass production of ultra-precision moulded and machined optics
The new appointee Per Ibsen brings a proven track record of leading small technology businesses to a strong market position.
As founder of Ibsen Microstructures in 1991, Ibsen lead the company until its sale to ADC Telecommunications in 2000 for a sum of $80M.
Following a management buyout a year later, Ibsen then served as technical director of the newly formed Ibsen Photonics.
Asked about his new appointment Per Ibsen commented "Based upon existing proprietary in-house technology Kaleido has identified strong market potential to develop next generation optics for a range of consumer products.
"Working in close collaboration with key strategic partners it is our aim to develop Kaleido's unique technology to this end and to pursue a longer-term goal of developing a unique optical module platform.
"Our dedication to serving the emerging market for direct-machined ultra precision optics for automotive and other business areas will continue undiminished.
Jesper Boie Rasmussen, chief technology officer, said "we are delighted that Per Ibsen has accepted to assume the role as CEO of Kaleido Technology.
"With his in-depth knowledge of the company having served as the business angel and chairman of the board in the start-up phase, we have now established a management team able to realise both our near term product developments and longer term optical platform module goals".
