The recruitment of Simon Gee as a business development manager by Virtalis, a 3D advanced visualisation company, will provide a further boost to the firm's global commercial focus
Joining the established sales team, Simon Gee will be concentrating on expanding Virtalis' international business, as well as growing the burgeoning sphere of using virtual reality in commercial applications, especially those in product design and marketing disciplines and the medical arena.
With an MBA, a science degree and over twenty years technical product marketing and sales, Simon's profile is an excellent fit for the Manchester-based company.
He said: "The application of VR and advanced visualisation has taken time to reach the threshold of commercial value and broad adoption, however, the established presence of Virtalis, with its impressive client base speaks for itself.
"I will increase this business further; overseas through the establishment of international distribution channels, and by a new focus on the commercial applications market".
David Cockburn-Price, MD of Virtalis, said: "We are expanding and are now ready to take on the challenge of broadening our customer sectors still further.
"In the last year, a significant proportion of our revenue has come from outside the UK.
"With more reference sites around the world, we need to seize not just the opportunities that present themselves, but also seek them out.
"I think Simon will be well suited to do this for us, but we've had to increase our insurance, as the Virtalis snow boarding team has just gained another member."
