CytoOne premium tissue culture plates from STARLAB feature chimney wells that are designed to reduce problems associated with edge effects and cell clumping.
Whether you choose a 6,12,24,48 or 96-well tissue culture plate, you will want to optimise the growth of your cultures to save on both labour and reagent costs.
The STARLAB group fully understands this, which is why its CytoOne premium tissue culture plates have been designed to help ensure your success.
This means using gamma sterilised crystal clear premium grade, non-toxic virgin polystyrene plates individually wrapped with a lot number on the packaging; having vented skirts to improve gas exchange; ridged gripping areas and non-reversible lids with condensation rings and support tabs to minimise surface contact.
In addition CytoOne plates also feature ‘chimney wells’ that provide an open channel around each plate well.
You fill these with medium during incubation to help produce a more uniform cell layer, by providing better temperature transfer across all wells.
This dramatically helps reduce the so-called ‘edge effects’, whereby clumping of cells can have a number of repercussions, even potentially invalidating results.
Problems can include a slow down of cell proliferation, difficulty with imaging cytometry and confocal microscopy and an inability to reliably tell the phase of cell cycle when using techniques involving Fluorescence Spectroscopy or High Content Screening.
CytoOne plates, with chimney wells, are designed to reduce these problems, when compared with other culture plates.
CytoOne premium tissue culture plates are also all certified RNase, DNase, DNA and pyrogen free and free samples are available for you to try.
