Beckman Coulter have produced a new application note for their DelsaMax PRO, a light scatter analyser for the determination of molecular size and charge characteristics of proteins and macromolecules.
The DelsaMax PRO is feature rich, allowing rapid analysis of sample zeta potentials, helping to prevent the molecule unfolding, dissociation or aggregation found with long exposure of precious samples to strong, oscillating, electric fields.
The DelsaMax PRO can also be programmed to initiate a temperature ramping profile permitting a series of measurements over a range of temperatures, simulating accelerated ageing. The DelsaMax PRO can also be used in conjunction with the DelsaMax ASSIST module.
This pressurisation system that can increase the pressure in the flow cell up to 30x above atmospheric pressure, forcing back into solution bubbles that might otherwise disrupt the ability of the analysis equipment get accurate light scatter signals.
Further important information on this speedy and reliable instrument and its role in formulation and stability testing can be downloaded from this page.
