Lamy Rheology has produced an application file discussing the use of their RM200 Touch viscometer for the investigation of the rheological behaviours of cosmetics, as demonstrated by different shampoo samples.
The rheological behaviour of cosmetics is dependent on their formulation and intended use.
Lamy Rheology Instruments has produced an application file detailing the use of their RM200 Touch universal viscometer, an easy to use rotating viscometer with an intuitive programmable 7-inch touchscreen, to investigate this behaviour in cosmetics.
Lamy has used two different shampoo samples, intended for the ‘adult’ and ‘baby’ markets, and investigated shear rates using the RM200 TOUCH and the MS-R3 measuring system.
A flow curve was then produced using their Rheomatic-P software. Clear differences were found between the samples that could be related to their intended markets. You can obtain more information on this interesting study by downloading the full application file here.
