InterFocus, a leading manufacturer and installer of laboratory furniture, show us how they have refurbished the historic chemistry laboratories of the University of Cambridge.
InterFocus are one of the UK’s leading designers, manufacturers and installers of laboratory and educational furniture. Based in Cambridge, with over 25 years’ experience of constructing and refurbishing labs, they were the obvious choice when it came time to refurbish the historic university’s acclaimed chemistry labs.
InterFocus used their extensive experience and knowledge to provided a bespoke design that matched the requirements of the internationally feted research groups, with their 200 research staff, 250 postgraduate students and 60 academic staff.
InterFocus manufactured and installed bespoke worktops made from African Iroko wood, sinks and taps and a designated write up area for laboratory staff.
Working closely with the client and fellow contractors, in keeping with InterFocus’s reputation for excellence, the refurbishment was on time and on budget. The result is a modern design that is perfectly in keeping with the traditional look of the Chemistry building of this world famous university.
