The distinguished Institute of Earth Physics of Paris uses Merck Millipore water purification systems in their Volcanic Systems Department.
Volcanic samples, often collected from active volcanoes, are analysed in the Paris Institute of Earth Physics’ Volcanic Systems Department. Pure and ultrapure water, produced by Milli-Q® Integral systems, is critical to this analysis.
The department requires around 5 litres of ultrapure water per day for the hydropyrolysis, ion chromatography, ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry) laboratories as well as around 30 litres of pure water in order to clean rocks and glassware.
The department has Merck Millipore’s Q-POD ultrapure water dispenser and their E-POD dispenser connected to the underbench Milli-Q® systems. Their convenient volumetric dispensers save time for researchers and improves accuracy.
