Innovate UK and EPSRC make £9m available for quantum research
31 Jul 2017
Innovate UK and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) have announced £9 million funding to boost research in quantum technologies.
Those interested in applying for funding can do so via the Innovate UK website.
The deadline for applications is 20 September and projects must be collaborative, with either a UK business or research and technology organisation as the lead, the Government said.
The funding is being run as part of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme, and follows a series of multi-million pound boosts to research and development in the UK.
Last week the government launched the first phase of a £246m battery technology challenge, and prior to that announced £138m investment to strengthen research-business partnerships.
Universities and science minister Jo Johnson also committed more than £100m for a National Satellite Testing Facility on the Harwell Campus in Oxfordshire in a bid to boost the UK’s role in space science.
