Buehler, a world leader in the manufacture of equipment, accessories and consumables for materials testing, has extended its portfolio in the area of grinding and polishing with the introduction of the new EcoMet 30 system.
Buehler has 80 years of experience as a leading manufacturer of instruments, consumables and accessories for materialography and materials analysis, including hardness testing. They have now added to their range with the introduction of the EcoMet 30 family of grinder-polishers, designed to reduce the labour involved with routine sample preparation, and thereby increase productivity in the lab, without any loss of quality or consistency of results.
The semi-automatic EcoMet 30 Auto and Auto Twin grinder/polisher are particularly efficacious for speeding up sample preparation. The most commonly used functions are displayed clearly on the front-side touch-screen user interface with its bright 7“-LCD colour screen that is refreshingly free of complicated menus.
Platen diameters of 203 mm, 254 mm and 305 mm are available on both the manual and the semi-automatic models with incremental adjustment of speed within a range of 50 to 500 rpm. Further time is saved thanks to the advanced cleaning functions that are also available on all models.
The splash guard design on the manual model, combined with the large work space and ergonomic bowl height, allows for excellent control of the grinding and polishing process while holding a material sample. A machine head provides this function on the semiautomatic models, which is equipped with a separate drive unit. The sample holder is particularly easy to install and remove. Loaded with up to four round samples, with diameters of 25, 30 or 40 mm, its contra-rotating sample holder rotates at a speed of 30 to 200 rpm.
All versions of the EcoMet 30 system grinder/polishers are exceptionally user-friendly and capable of real savings for any test laboratory.
