Fluid Imaging Technologies have provided an application note on the morphological filter discrimination of particulates in injectable therapeutic formulations using their FlowCam Dynamic Imaging Particle Analyser.
Pharmacological applications involving injectable therapeutics necessitate strict characterisation of all particulate matter. FlowCam, the Dynamic Imaging Particle Analyser from Fluid Imaging Technologies, is the ideal benchtop instrument for this task thanks to its unique software, VisualSpreadsheet that can discriminate both particle morphologies and physical characteristics.
In a new application note Fluid Imaging Technologies outline how the quality of an end product can be assessed using VisualSpreadsheet to create a morphological filter to distinguish between different types of particulate based on size, shape and other physical properties.
VisualSpreadsheet represents an improvement on other spreadsheet software programs, which only allow you to sort and filter rows of numeric data, by giving the operator the ability to sort and filter actual images. This permits in-depth analysis of samples and results in a greater understanding of data.
In the application note Fluid Imaging Technologies explain how FlowCam, using their VisualSpreadsheet was used to discriminate silicone oil from other particulates present within a polyclonal IgG sample. Check out the FlowCam website from Fluid Imaging Technologies for full details.
