Biotron (BIT) has emerged as a potential runner in the race to find the coronavirus cure, with 30 antivirus compounds which show potential in their ability to treat the virus.
The coronavirus is now officially more deadly than SARS, and the number of confirmed cases is rapidly increasing across the globe. Biotron says its scientists were the first worldwide to publish important antiviral data for the current iteration of the coronavirus.
The company has a library of small molecule compounds that they are testing against the coronavirus. These compounds, according to Biotron, can reduce the levels of coronavirus by between 90 and 100% in infected cell cultures.
